PDF Knitting Pattern
Hanami is a sock knitting pattern from my Japan Collection, inspired by the quiet, special atmosphere of cherry blossoms in Japan.
The socks are knitted in two colors using a jacquard/Fair Isle pattern. Due to the clear repetitions, the socks are pleasant to knit and quickly develop their own rhythm. Almost a little meditative, with that typical "just one more round..." feeling 😄
The pattern extends evenly over the entire sock, creating a fine, graphic structure that is simple yet never boring.
As is typical for my designs, the heel is a deliberately placed detail that harmoniously integrates into the overall design.
Meaning of the Name
In Japan, the name Hanami refers to the deliberate viewing of cherry blossoms in spring. This brief pause before everything starts up again. For me, this is exactly the feeling embedded in the design: light, delicate, and with those small moments where you think "okay, this looks pretty beautiful" while knitting.
