Akari is a crochet shawl from my Japan Collection and embraces the calm, clear aesthetic of traditional Japanese influences.

The design consists of an airy, repeating pattern across the entire shawl, creating a uniform and lightweight structure. It is worked exclusively with simple basic stitches such as chain stitches, single crochet, and double crochet, making the shawl very pleasant and relaxing to crochet.

Inspired by Japanese design, Akari combines restraint with a modern, elegant effect that can be worn versatilely in everyday life.

The special character is created by the repetition of the pattern, which creates a calm rhythm while crocheting and gives the shawl its clear, open movement.

Meaning of the Name

The name Akari comes from Japanese and means light. Not bright, not loud, but like the gentle glow in the morning. For me, it describes exactly this mood: a shawl that captures this brightness, light, open, in motion.
