Kodawari combines modern simplicity with traditional Japanese influences and is part of my Japan Collection.
The symmetrical shawl thrives on its calm form and special details. Inspired by traditional Sashiko patterns, a structure is created that is clear, elegant, and yet suitable for everyday wear.
The special thing about it: The pattern is not knitted directly, but woven in and then embroidered. This is precisely how this typical character between modern lightness and traditional craftsmanship is created.
Kodawari is one of those projects that are pleasant to knit and yet have that little "wow" moment when the pattern gradually becomes visible.
Meaning of the name:
In Japanese, the name Kodawari stands for the conscious pursuit of meticulousness and attention to detail. This is exactly the feeling that this design embodies for me – in its calm structure, clear form, and the small details that ultimately make all the difference.
There is also a matching beanie in the same design, so a harmonious set can be created.
🧶 A shawl balancing serenity, structure, and Japanese-inspired aesthetics.
